In 4040 Baseball the amateur draft occurs on the League date of June 1st.
Unlike real-life, where teams will draft as many as 64 players each, the 4040 Baseball draft has only 8 rounds. All 8 rounds are guaranteed to produce a major-league usable player (assuming your team is spending enough on scouting to tell the difference between usable and unusable players).
A total of 240 players will be drated each season (8 rounds X 30 teams).
On the League date of May 1st, every team receives an updated scouting report. This report details the current and projected ratings for all players, amateurs and professionals, who have not yet fully matured.
To learn how to use the scouting report to prepare for the draft, go to Scouting Reports.
Create a computer draft plan for your team and the best matching players will be drated during your turn. Or if you want more control, create a specific draft plan.
To learn how to use the draft plan, go to Amateur Draft Plan.
The draft runs in the order defined at the beginning of the season.
It runs until either every team's draft plans have been satisfied, or it has completed 8 rounds, whichever comes first.
