There are two ways to create a draft plan for your team. You may choose either of them, or combine them both.
The simplest way to create a draft plan for your team is to tell the computer the types of players you are interested in, and let it take care of choosing the best matches.
A. From your team menu, go to General Manager > Amateur Draft Plan.
B. Next click on the Computer Draft Settings tab.
A. Add or Edit priorities in the Offensive Priorities column
B. Repeat for the Pitching Priorities column
You may reorganize your priorities by dragging the left end of each tile upward or downward.
Above the priority columns is the Computer Draft Strategy setting. Set this to tell the computer how to draft against the priorites you've created.
At the very bottom of the page, below the columns, is a setting labeled If none of the priorities can be matched. Tell the computer how to proceed if that should occur.
The manual draft plan is onluy possible for those who have studied their scouting reports and selected specific players they are interested in. It's a fun process, if you enjoy that sort of thing, and rewarding to land a sleeper who might go overlooked by other teams.
A. From your team menu, go to General Manager > Scouting Report.
B. Search the players and pitchers for those who match your needs.
C. Check the box to the left of a player if you want to add them to your draft plan.
To learn more about the scouting report go to Scouting Reports.
A. From your team menu, go to General Manager > Amateur Draft Plan.
B. Next click on the Manual Draft Plan tab.
A. Drag the players into their preferred order. The top-most available player will be drafted in each round.
Combining both approaches gives the ultimate coverage for your needs. On the one hand you can specify your primary trade targets on individual basis using the Manual Draft Plan. Once those players are no longer available the Computer Draft Settings can take over to find players that match your team's highest general priorities.
