The International Draft is a pay-to-participate, late season draft, available only to human owners. Each participating team may draft up to FOUR international players.
Unlike that of the amateur draft, or the end-of-year draft, the scouting report for the International Draft contains a margin of error for all player ratings.
Depending on the region and age of the player, margins can run anywhere from +/-3 to +/-10 pts.
The entry fee each season for the International Draft is $10M.
Each draftee is awarded a signing bonus, in the following order:
The draft is conducted in reverse order (fewest to most wins) of current, regular-season standings. In the event of a tied record, the team with the most cash gets the earlier pick.
The International Scouting Report is available August 1st, and the draft takes place on October 10th.
Each region has it's own unique trends, including strentths in certain skillsets, and variations in age.
The most established of the regions, prospects tend to be older by the time they can be drafted, but also more predictable. They tend to have a lower margin of error, and provide well-rounded pitchers and hitters. They also offer a shorter window of control at league minimum.
This region provides rich pitching and fielding development. Prospects found here can range widely in age, and as a result can have a broad range in margin of error. Those who are younger allow for a longer window of control.
Much like the Central American region, except it provides richer hitting development, and poorer pitching development.
The margin of error indicates how innacurate a player's ratings projections might be.
Example: A player with a +/-5 margin and a 90-rated CH may have his CH mature to anywhere between 85 and 95.
The actual error for each player is somewhere within the margin of error range, and is equally applied to all ratings.
Example: If a prospect's CH rating maxes out at 3 points above projections, all his other ratings will also be +3.
The ratings which are affected by the margin of error are: CH, PH, SP, AS, Fielding Ratings, EN, CO, K, and Pitch Ratings.
Final ratings are only revealed as a player matures. You may discover early on that a player will max out below his projections, or you may find later on that he keeps growing beyond his projections.
